Trail Etiquette

One of the joys of snowshoeing is the ability to roam in all directions, on trail, off trail and everything in-between.  Here are a few reminders about sharing the trails with other snow sports enthusiasts and snow loving critters:

  1. Do not walk on groomed ski tracks or backcountry skin tracks – skiers will have a much more enjoyable day if they can continue to glide along trails free of divots and bumps.
  2. Yield to the uphill snowshoer, just as you would when hiking.
  3. Follow the 'Leave No Trace' principles – take only pictures, leave only snowshoe footprints.
  4. We really shouldn’t have to remind anyone but…don’t eat the yellow snow!
